Engineering

The Engineering Department is responsible for providing both engineering services to the Town as well as having responsibility over Public Works, the Water Treatment and Sanitary Sewage treatment facilities and the residential solid waste management program.

As Town Engineer and Director of Public Works, Ken Proctor, P. Eng., has overall responsibility for all functions of the Engineering and Public Works Departments, the Treatment Facilities, and Sold Waste Management as well as the statutory requirements as town engineer under the Nova Scotia Municipal Government Act.

The Engineering Department operates from the second floor of the Town Hall. From this location, engineering works to provide the citizens of Antigonish Town with a wide variety of public services including:
Environmental compliance and reporting for the water utility and sanitary sewage treatment,
Management and maintenance of town infrastructure,
Coordination of residential solid waste collection and snow clearing operations.
