New Home For Pictou-Antigonish Regional Library
     The Pictou-Antigonish Regional Library Board, the Municipality of the County of Antigonish, and the Town of Antigonish announced today they have a location for a new public library facility at 283 Main Street, Antigonish. The announcement was made on behalf of both Councils and Board by Mayor Carl Chisholm, Warden Herb DeLorey, Board representatives Councillor Mary MacLellan, Councillor Sean Cameron, and Conrad Poirier. Tax Rates Set for 2009-2010
      The Residential tax rate has increased to $.90 per $100 of assessment and the Commercial Tax Rate* has increased to $2.36 per $100 of assessment due to a further phase out of Business Occupancy taxes.* Waste Collection Charge had an increase to $198.75 per dwelling unit. This charge once again also includes the cost of additional Green Cart pick ups in the summer months. The due date for property taxes is June 30, 2009.
