There are a variety of recreational facilities in the Antigonish area. Columbus Field on Main Street, is an excellent park for children. Sailors can moor their boats at the Antigonish Yacht Club and then play a round of golf at the Antigonish Golf & Country Club or watch some stock car racing out at Riverside Speedway. Snowmobilers will enjoy the miles of groomed trails maintained by the Antigonish SnoDogs Snowmobile Club.

Indoor facilities also provide a range of activities from swimming to basketball at the Oland Centre, Alumni Aquatic Centre, and the brand new Charles V. Keating Milllennium Centre on the StFX campus, watching a hockey game at the Antigonish Arena, to curling in St. Andrew’s at the Highland Curling Club.
