Antigonish Cares

The Town and Municipality of the County of Antigonish are pleased to come together to show our community support to those who need it the most during COVID-19.

Do you have a loved one, family friend, or former neighbour living in a long-term care home in our community? Why not take this time to reach out, send a note or draw picture that could help brighten someone’s day!

Members of our community in long-term care homes are being well cared for by the hardworking staff but they may be feeling lonely because of visitor restrictions.  Although residents know that is for their own protection, it is still difficult not to see and hear those familiar faces and voices of their family and friends.

Let’s stay in touch and let residents and workers know that we are thinking of them by sending messages of support, thanks and friendship to brighten spirits and lift the hearts those who need it the most.

The R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home is jointly owned by the Town of Antigonish and the Municipality of the County of Antigonish. Right now, we are thinking of the 136 residents and staff members who need a little extra support from our community during this time.

We invite you and your family to send letters, cards, pictures, paintings and messages of hope to the residents and staff of the RK MacDonald Nursing Home or any other facility in Antigonish Town and County.

Cards and letters for the R.K. MacDonald can be mailed or dropped in a secure outdoor drop box at:

R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home
64 Pleasant Street
Antigonish, Nova Scotia
B2G 1W7

If you use the drop box, please be sure to follow proper physical/social distancing guidelines from other residents and employees and wash your hands when you return home.

The Town has also partnered with the Municipality of the County of Antigonish in this season's County Connect newsletter. The County Connect will be going out to mailboxes in the County and Town of Antigonish this week. Inside the newsletter, there is a poster insert for residents to put up in their windows to show support for our essential service workers.

Let's show the community how much we care!
