The Antigonish community is nestled in the heart of the highlands and is bustling with life. Our small town offers an experience like no other, from the amazing beaches and hiking trails to theatre and the arts, you can pursue your passions anywhere in Antigonish. Home to St Francis Xavier University, St Martha’s Regional Hospital and a variety of other locally owned businesses and services, Antigonish makes it easy to enjoy the finer things in life.
Antigonish is very fortunate to have a regional hospital here in the heart of our community. Attracting and retaining physicians and specialized technicians to our area is vital to protect not only our hospital but the health and well-being of our community.
Antigonish offers you not just a place to live, but a community to call home. Whether you enjoy the great outdoors or like to explore your creative side, Antigonish has room to accommodate all interests.
Community Navigator
Antigonish has hired a Community Navigator who supports physicians and their families moving to Antigonish Town and County. The Community Navigator role supports Nova Scotia Health’s current recruitment efforts and will serve as a local expert to provide a clear and direct connection between physicians, our community and its resources.

Welcome Wednesdays at the Market (starting Aug 10th 4-7pm)
Welcome Wednesdays at the Market will open in the Market Building starting Wednesday, August 10th from 4-7pm this month and will continue to run on every Wednesday of the month to welcome newcomers, locals, and organizations. The atmosphere will be social and celebratory, with a focus on building relationships and connections. Antigonish is lucky to have so many new people here and we want to welcome everyone to this wonderful community!
Welcome Wednesdays at the Market is a new project that is a working partnership between the FMA and the Community Navigator, with support from the Antigonish Chamber of Commerce. Many organizations in Antigonish share a common concern with the attraction and retention of community members, skilled workers, and healthcare professionals. One thing that we, as a community can do to support a vibrant and thriving Antigonish is to be a welcoming environment for everyone!
Please reach out to Sarah O'Toole, Community Navigator, if you would like to participate or need more information. (902) 863-8570 This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
