Please take notice that on Monday January 19th 2026 the Council of the Town of Antigonish gave second reading approval to amendments which modernize and align zoning regulations with current housing and development needs. The changes aim to increase housing options and affordability, support mixed-use development, clarify standards for accessory dwelling units, and update design and dimensional requirements to promote sustainable growth and efficient land use.
Further pursuant to Section 208 of the Municipal Government Act, the Provincial Director of Planning completed the mandatory review of these documents and determined they are consistent with the Provincial Statements of Interest and therefore do not require further Provincial approval.
