The newly installed permanent recirculation line is now online at the Sewage Treatment Plant.
Prior to this, cold water was pumped to the Front End of the lagoon using a temporary set up but it required more active monitoring.
This new installation will ensure consistent delivery of oxygenated water to the section of the lagoon that needs it most, so that the good bacteria can break down waste as part of the natural treatment process.
This is one measure of many that will prevent odour from passing beyond the limits of the lagoon in the long term.
