Church Street, from St. Ninian Street to the traffic lights at Antigonish Market Square, will be open to local traffic only on Sunday, July 26, for the installation of new services.
Public Notice: Bay Street Project - Week of July 20, 2026

Construction on the Bay Street Project continues for the section of East Main Street between Haley Road and Adam Street.
Starting Sunday evening, July 19 there will be stop-and-go traffic overnight through the week, ending Thursday morning, July 23.
Public Notice: West Street - Week of July 20 2026
- Details
Work continues on the section of West Street from the roundabout to the intersection at James Street and Convocation Blvd.
The full detour will remain in place from Monday, July 20 to Friday, July 24 between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., when the road is expected to reopen.
Public Notice: Bay Street July 16
- Details
Road work for this evening: Today, Thursday July 16 there will be stop-and-go traffic at the east end of Main Street, expected to begin around 6:30 p.m.
At this time, road surface work is planned to take place on Main Street between the train tracks and Haley Road. Work is expected to resume off the street on Friday.
