We're continuing important upgrades at our Sewer Treatment Plant.
Beginning Thursday, July 30, crews will be installing new aeration equipment and completing warranty maintenance on existing lines. This work is expected to take place until Sunday.
During the installation, there will be several brief plant shutdowns of approximately 30 minutes each. Residents may notice odor on these days or the days that follow.
Our recirculation system will continue to bring more oxygen filled water from the back of the lagoon to the front. Staff will also be at the site to closely monitor conditions and to add extra deodorizer.
We understand the negative impact the plant's odour has on neighbouring properties and appreciate the public's understanding as we work to address this issue. It is a lot to ask for continued patience, and the thought of additional odour emanating from this work will be unwelcome, however this work is necessary to enhance the efficiency of the plant and minimize odour over the long-term.
