Emergencies can happen at any time, and being prepared starts with understanding the potential risks in our region. In Antigonish, this may include severe weather events, power outages, flooding, or other unexpected situations that can impact daily life.

Antigonish Regional Emergency Management Organization (AREMO / REMO) works in collaboration with municipal partners and emergency services to plan for and respond to emergencies in our community. Their role is to help coordinate resources, support response efforts, and keep residents informed during emergency situations.

While REMO plays a key role in emergency response, preparedness begins at home. Residents are encouraged to take an active role in understanding potential risks, creating household emergency plans, and ensuring they have essential supplies on hand.

By working together—through community planning and individual preparedness—we can help ensure Antigonish remains a safe and resilient place to live.
