Antigonish Town & County Council Vote to Move Forward with Consolidation
At two Special Council Meetings held on Thursday, October 20, 2022, both Town and County Councils voted to move forward with consolidation. Both councils passed a motion that stated: Municipal /Town Council requests the provincial government consolidate the Municipality of the County of Antigonish and the Town of Antigonish into one municipal unit through special legislation.

Please note that a Special Municipal Council Meeting will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at 7:30 p.m. in Council Chambers at Town Hall, 274 Main Street, for the purpose of making a decision on consolidation with the Municipality of the County of Antigonish.

Mandatory Water Conservation - Effective September 14
On Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at 4:30 p.m. the Town of Antigonish initiated a mandatory water conservation order to all Town and fringe area water utility customers, which includes all residential and commercial properties.
The Town of Antigonish is located in Mi'kma'ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi'kmaq People, and we acknowledge them as the past, present, and future caretakers of this land.Get in Touch
