Are you interested in joining a Town committee?

The Town of Antigonish is looking for a member of the community to join a committee.

“It’s important to have input and feedback from the community on the various topics our committees cover,” says Mayor Laurie Boucher. “The involvement from the community is a key component to the work these committees do.”

The Town has a vacancy on the Waste Management Advisory Committee. For more information on the committee, please see below.

Waste Management Advisory Committee

The mandate of the Waste Management Committee is:

1. to advise and make recommendations to Council concerning waste management activities in the Town of Antigonish;

2. to gather information on best practices regarding the collection, transportation and disposal of solid waste, organics, recyclables, household hazardous waste and bulky waste;

3. to educate the public on waste management issues;

4. to take other steps consistent with this policy that the committee reasonably deems necessary to carry out its mandate;

5. to take action on such matters as are lawfully delegated to it by statute or by Council.
